I don't know how true it is. But I had read stretching b4 working out inhibits muscle growth. So usually I warm up on eliptical and then stretch later b4 bed. It might just be nonsense though.

This isn't the static stretching you are thinking. This is about getting joint capsules seated correctly before you lift. If you want something else that might be more for you, try this.

Excessive static stretching isn't recommended. A dynamic warm up which involves movement, smashing and distraction stretches are fine.

Might have been a muscular development. Some study from Brazil I think.
It doesn't limit growth really. It puts micro tears into the tissue possibly making you a tad but weaker for a couple hours. It also may elevate your risk of injury.

This is static stretching just prior to lifting though. And even in some cases it's needed.
