way to go! I am only on day 4, so still not letting myself think about the carb up yet LOL
Cant wait to see how it treats you!
Here is an update:
OK....I ended a few days ago. I went 9.5 days. Total weight loss was 15lbs scale weight.
Still waiting for my water/carb balance to return to normal, but I think I will have lost about 7-9lbs.
I stopped early for two reasons. One, I was worried that I was becoming so weak and two, I wanted to see how I would respond in the gym with only a limited time to carb back up. (a situation I may see in competition when cutting weight and re-carbing after weigh-in)
Here is where I was after the 9.5 days of PSMF. My legs got to be very lean. The leg pics are un-flexed, just sitting. Skin has thinned nicely. The last pic is flexing legs in the gym. Obviously, my midsection is still my sticking point. Not terrible, but not even as close to the levels of leanness in my lower body.
Observations: Strength TANKED. I think I lost 100lbs on my deads, and 50-75 on my bench. My strength still had not recovered even 36 hours after re-introducing LOTS of carbs. I tried to do deads on Friday and 495 singles felt heavy (Something I can normally rep 10+ times). I will see how strength recovers next week, but this was really rough on my body.
From a looks perspective, it worked really well. As a bodybuilder, I think I would be happy with the results. I was doing some posing on Friday and I had the best separation in my arm and legs looked downright freaky.
I figured out this will not be a good method to drop weight to hit a weight class in Powerlifting. It is just too taxing on the body. I have yet to see how long it will take to recover strength. I know that losing 9 lbs, (even if all 9 were muscle) would not cost me this much strength, so I know there is something else at play. I will monitor and update as next week goes on.
