Just finished reading the "Rapid fat loss handbook" by Lyle Mcdonald.

I have been forestalling my summer cut as I a have a powerlifting comp coming up this weekend. After that, I have a little catching up to do.

The program is MUCH more then a "fast". There are provisions for different levels of bodyfat as well as training goals. I will be doing it only 11-12 days. I am still well under 15% (around 10% by calipers but it is all in my midsection).

I will be doing heavy weight training during the program. (Just basic compounds as he recommends. To facilitate this he uses targeted carbs (much like a TKD).

I am thinking I should be able to shed what I want in less then 2 weeks. I am expecting about 20lbs of scale loss and 5-6lbs of actual fat. (or about 2% drop in BF for me at my size) The other 14-15lbs will come back with carbs and water after I go back to a "normal' diet.

Have to get through my comp first, but I will do the program as laid out (including all the sups) along with EC and possibly Y thrown in there. (as directed) I will report back and let you know how it goes.

This will also be great experience as a tool for "making weight" if I compete in the future. I always see myself competing 198, but have found I have made good progress (strength wise) letting my fat drift up a little. Being able to drop back real quick will be a good tool.

This is a current pic I snapped this AM. I am super bloated as I ate Chinese take-out last night. (and fried chicken for lunch ;) ) Anyway.,....not too bad

This was where I was before the surplus

I will be interested to see what I can do in two weeks!

Great cant wait to see how it treats you!

Hey guys. Just a little update. My comp is tomorrow. Not sure what is going to happen.

Freaking pulled hip flexor is really hurting me! (yes...still) Grrrrrr.

Went to try to do speed reps on wed and could barely do 315. (hurt to much to squat down).

Been nursing it past several days hoping I can do the comp. Very painful, I think it is more of a tear then a pull. (yes I went to a Doc and I am 100% sure it is a pulled muscle) Looks like the recovery may be longer then I thought.

When all is right, I can deadlift without pain....but one wrong step, and I am down to my knees. Stretching and moving through some full ROM after it is relaxed helps a lot. Doing all I can do. We will see what happens.

They are doing a Wilks calc for best overall lifter. There is a guy at 148 who may give me a run for the top place. I have heard he is very good. But to beat me (by Wilks score) he will have to pull over 500. (to beat my 600) If I can stay healthy, on my third pull I am going to go for 615-620 just for the hell of it!

Good luck and see if you can get someone to shoot vids of your lifts.

Hope things pan out well for you man, I'm rooting for you!

Pulling 500 at 148 is pretty damn good, do you know if he even has that in him? Good luck anyway bro, all the best MF.

First meet today. Been nursing an injury and was not even sure I would lift today. (I could not even do light work on Wed)

Leg was hurting, but found my "groove" and was able to push through.

9 white lights!.

575 opener
600 2nd

620 third! Yep....and a few experienced guys said I had another 10-15 in me at least. ;)

Trying to get a vid. The guy that took them with my phone had his thumb over the lens! (srs)

Took home 1st place in my weight class and Best lifter overall. Only guy that even came close for Best Overall, was a guy at 138 that pulled 460.

Was a fun great experience,....only regret was not going for 630 ;)

[edit]....got some vids...waiting on the final pull vid (my wifes friend took them. She was cheering me on. ;)

575 opener

600 second

620 3rd and final

Nice work bro, stoked for you. Well done !!

Funny, I've always thought I could've/should've gone heavier afterwards...

6 full days of cutting

Down 11lbs. (yes....that is not a typo)

Pics taken totally carb depleted, and cold (no pump). Doing a PSMF diet.

Amazing work.. Been watching for a while... Just haven't peeked in for a few weeks. Deads are looking sick.. Nice pull after pull after pull... 620.. Thats sweet. Your in the 198's correct?

Came along was since the start. I remember when you started this thread about HRT.. At that time I was trying to get on HRT/TRT from the doc. My levels are low just barely above the cut off.. So I never did get it....

Keep at it... 650 then 700 PULLS.. I can see it now.
