I really wanted to go up to 600+ for the above parallel box squats but my buddy wouldn't let me. He asked me if I had lost my ****ing mind, I looked back and asked if he lost his. I don't know what the hell I've been thinking lately I've been attempting some stupid weights. When I put the 315 on the chains he gave me a strange look, I handed him the phone and he said, "Really dude?"

Bench Day:
135x alot x 2
225 x alot x 1
350x4 easy PR
350x3 easy PR again never had 2 sets at this weight

Incline bench:
225 x 7
275 x 6 PR

Floor Press:
315 x 3 uneven had to stop
335 x 4 PR

Close grip floor press:
275 x 5 deep pause PR long ROM
295 x 3 deep pause PR again

I left this is by far the best bench training session I have ever had. I broke every PR I've ever had on compounds, this is insane. I will continue to implement this benching program. This is by far the most progress I've ever had in such a short period of time.

Nice man!

Congrats on the PRs. Looks like your program has you on track to hit 450 soon.

Very nice. Are the floor presses to help fix a shortcoming in your mechanics? Or do you think it's a necessary accessory to flat bench in general?

They are a fantastic accessory after pressing and great for max effprt day or speed day. If you want a monster press you need to be floor pressing.

I'm not a fan of box squats at all esp if someone is a raw lifter. I personally think it ****s up with them learning where depth is. You need to "feel" it and not have a box tell you where depth is. Just my opinion.

I enjoy them with bands....My depth is fine, no problems burying a double or triple all well below parallel, I enjoy it because it helps my speed on the lockout.

Done box squats maybe 6 or 7 times this year, always had an increase the next week....maybe mental but they haven't failed me yet. They aren't the staple exercise for legs that day but I have no complaints with them.
