Squats and deadlifts will help you build muscle and burn fat . They are two of the 3 main lifts . Suck it up and do them lol :D

RR one a week enough? oldschool it must be my diet bcoz i am doing everything else right :/

ok what kind of reps and sets do you plan on doing? Yes I would deadlift once a week and squat once a week.

5x5 start off with the bar and work myself up, and with the deads start at 50kg

well to be honest havent got that kind of money right after xmas .. $100 = £65 hmm mayb in a month or so

i dont believe everything else is right! yes, you are wayyyyy off on your diet, however, as rr has pointed out, lets see your current regimen or what you plan on. post it up!!

5 sets of 5 reps starting off with just the bar? or iam i better doing it on the smith ?? deadlifts start off at 50kg and add 2.5kg each set ??

5x5 is good . I'm not sure where to tell you to start at really I think you may find 50kg to be very light . The bar is better than the smith machine . I know funds are tight but it would be well worth it when you can to get your diet sorted with NN.

stay away from the smith, as a novice? you need to develop balance and technique...bad idea imo.never a smith on 5x5 anyway,unless for say close grip benching.
