You ever wear sleeves or try using some KT tape?

Hey BI, no I never have. Just thinking of the sleeves makes my knees sweat. I'm curious to know how they help.

The sleeves help create a more stable enviornment for you to squat in. The sleevs give you a bit of support which helps. They also heat up the area which makes it a more pleasant experience for those who experience pain while squatting.

You guys are freaks... Almost a year ago I did 2 sets of 2 @505. I felt something pop in my neck on the very first rep and in my infinite wisdom I didn't quit. Couldn't turn my head for a couple days. Took some time off, back at it now. But anything heavy is behind me. Getting older isn't all it's cracked up to be...

Just recently hit 500x8 coming back from some injuries, and probably could have had 10, but I had set my number at 8 and just stopped there. Should be hitting 650 soon. I'll update again then.

I squatted 565X2 last night, but I see way too many guys lifting over 500 pounds but they just squat a few inches, I try to squat deep enough with my hammies touching my calves.

Nice... 650 would be a beastly raw squat.

Haha, creaky and achy and arthritic would be the words that come to mind. I had a world renowned ortho tell me "I can fix your knees so that they never dislocate again, but because it will change the location of your patella (and thus cause the patella to grind a new trochlear groove) you will be in more pain than you are now. But I can fix your knees so that they never dislocate again!" I said "Hell no, that sounds awful." He said, "It would be, so do you want my professional recommendation? (I nod my head.) You need to suck it up, wrap them up, and deal with pain and instability until you are old enough to be a candidate for knee replacements." So that's what I'm doing. Just squatting through it.

Nice... 650 would be a beastly raw squat.

Thanks. After training with MJR, and then seeing YouTube videos of guys like Malinchev and Lilliebridge and Kendall, it seems pretty insignificant, but I'll be very very happy with it. I'll make sure to get it on video.

Sad I doubt it but any chance you might just do a push pull?

Actually, with my shoulder/arm issues, I wish there was a squat/pull comp. But no, I won't be a specialist. No chance. Whatever it takes, I'll rehab and get back at it. Even if I have to just have a token lift for something, I'm going to keep chasing a three lift total.

I'm heading back to the ortho next week to find out what's going on with my shoulder/arm. I talked to the physical therapist from back where I moved from, and she thinks that what I'm feeling could be residual from the labrum tear that may have never healed. I should have an MRI by the end of next week and then know what's up by the 24/25th.
