Brother!!! Overhead squats are a freaky movement!!! That made for a very difficult superset. You are defintely zoning and thats a great feeling. Hope you like it :)

That leg day looked murderous. Eyes widened when the 25 rep squat sets were seen... Destroy and Flood is an evil muse!

Hawkeye that work is AWESOME, might have to try it next leg day. I have done front and back squats before, but never overhead squats.

Do overhead squats require a lot of balance, or just brute strength? Is it difficult to get up from the squat with e barbell overhead, as opposed to a standard back squat?

Might try overhead squat with a light weight and work up to a heavier set, do Overhead Squats work different leg muscles to backs squat, or just more effective?

I do think they incorporate more muscle groups, core and some coordination. I would definitely advocate starting with just the bar and working the form of it to acclimate yourself. Then, add weight accordingly. I struggle a bit with front squats so I figured I would do these instead. As far as effectiveness, I guess it all depends how they hit you. Give them a shot and see what you think.

No rhyme or reason. Just decided to come in to one of the team training sessions. It was packed and so I just decided to do something. Weights moved pretty easy. My daughter tagged along (she's 11) and is on a travelling soccer team. She was asked to play with the 13-14 year old team, so she needs to get stronger so she can bang with the older gals. I think she just enjoyed hanging out with her dad, but I did put her to work. LOL.

Since Saturday, the only training I have done is shoveling snow!

Overall a pretty decent workout. Left elbow is a bit sore. It's my surgery elbow. Probably stick with this a few more weeks and switch to Paul Carter's Base Building.
