Not to sound weak as hell but I just started training and am having difficulties with pull-ups...I have searched various articles and even tried the search function on here but would anyone have any advice on how to get stronger to even do a pull-up let alone multiple sets.
Forum has a wealth of knowledge and I'm just trying to figure out where to start
Is there really much of a difference between the two? Personally I do overhand for a wide grip, but do the underhand for a close grip since it's more comfortable for me to do.
Yep work on the Neg part of it. Use a Chair under your feet to help you up and down. Just work on it every week. You will be doing them on your own in no time.
Just a quick Youtube search.

Here I go again bringing up my prison stories...I apologize. However, in the fed system weights are long gone. I had no other choice but to do bar work and burpees. These are the only good things that I gained from doing time. I always did dips...still do. Sets with 2 45lb plates. Love em. I always hated pull ups because they were so fucking hard for me to do. I felt like a weakling. I could barely do 3. You need to put your ego aside and just do them. My brother 69nites has it correct. Do that shit. Wide grip overhand chins were the toughest. Underhand close grip were the easiest. Just do the damn thing and you will become strong as shit. Trust.
