Deadlift
515 x 6 sets x 4 reps

Focused on pulling for speed and improved when I i) kept the bar close to my shins at the start (maybe 1.5" out) ii) kept my head down, and iii) timed my hip dip and the start of the pull so I was at the bottom of my dip exactly the moment when I started to pull. Though I am slower than the younger guys on these, I am gaining speed all the time!

Big benches....

Interesting you said you keep your head down... I like to pull while keeping my chin down. I also keep the bar close to my shins.

And my pulls are almost with my upper back rounded. My coach who pulls well over 700 lbs at 198 lbs bw says keep your low back flat, arms stiff and pull the weight off the ground in a straight line. Rounding the upper back means you aren't relying on traps to move the weight, and shortens the distance the weight has to travel to lock out. I am a believer . . .
