Right after he took over, I remember some discussion about how she had to remain in NYC while his job took him elsewhere, cause that's where the youngest child was in school. I never got that, I assume the school is a very special one, but aren't there similar schools in Washington or Florida? Could that be her way of getting some in NYC while he is elsewhere? Imagine he has spycams on her, but she has her own Secret Service guys assigned to her, no? One of them may know how to work around spycams.

That a very liberal interpretation of the clause. So nobody who owns a business can run for president without giving it up does that make sense lol? It's unAmerican in the purest of sense! And many Presidents of past had plantations and where established men of agriculture before being president without giving up the farm.

I don't see how this clause requires Trump to divest his business. However, I do think it's prudent for people in power to put their assets in a blind trust to prevent the appearance of impropriety. That puts Trump in a really tough spot because "Trump" IS the brand. That's why they slap in on any hotel or resort because it adds value to the property. (I have no idea why, but apparently it does). So I'm not sure exactly how Trump does that. What he's done in handing off management of his assets to his kids I suppose is a decent solution under the circumstances, as long as they keep a Chinese wall up and do not communicate what they're doing back and forth to avoid conflicts of interest.

The concept in the U.S.A. was that the president would come from the people, serve his/her term, then return to the people. The idea that you have to give up your business to be president is perverse to our form of government (i.e. you aren't being made a monarch or diety or whatever, you are still just a citizen). Its been required, though, that they not run their business while in office to avoid inevitable conflict of interest.
