That's funny @2ez my wife is an ortho nurse and they were fully booked for surgery today and Wed and a full office of patients tomorrow and Thursday. I told her to pull herself out of work, she is a severe asthmatic and if she gets this I don't think she will recover. Let the greedy surgeon keep operating, find another nurse to see patients and dose coumadin post op. She has no business seeing 20+ patients a day.

In NY/NJ all elective surgeries are cancelled to accommodate the new demand. I would be lying if I tell you we are comfortable with how we are trained and supplied for this new demand. We are behind. not fully prepared. both my daughters have autoimmune conditions. I am divorced. they do not live with me fortunately. I told them both, we can text and video chat, but we will not be together until this thing blows over. many people are carriers without any symptoms. None. moreover, facilities have made its own test. where I work there is the disclaimer that states, Not FDA approved, but the test were made using CDC Guidelines because the test have not been made available. Last week the country had 600+ confirmed positive. Today, the number is now more than 4000+.....7 days later. Today, CNN reported 349 people died in the last 24 hours.

The doctors are not going into the rooms. speaking to the Pts while standing in the doorway. Nurses, Respiratory Therapist...are front and center. Ventilators, Bipap,Hi Flows are already being used by those with Respiratory issues and Flu patients. it is that time of year. Now factor Covid 19....and we are not ready.

Its just starting. this is only the beginning. My facility is not prepared. Not my opinion....its a fact. but we will do our best.

I don't think the USA is prepared for this. I believe socialized medicine will be implemented post coronavirus. I am not sure if I will get sick but I want to be prepared. I have enough food to last for two weeks minimum. I bought a bunch of distilled water but came to the conclusion that the only way to make sure I have clean water to drink and use for cooking is to make my own. I got a water distiller. I plan to start making colloidal silver for my friends and family. It's a relatively simple process. I figure I can make a quart a day with the setup I currently have. I'm not sure how well it will work. Last time I took it was around 2017 when I got really sick. I would suggest buying a kit. I bought a shitload of different herbs. I've placed two orders thus far and will place a third this week. I anticipate getting it at some point. I don't believe it's what the media claims it to be.

Slic.

When people say it's going to get worse before it gets better, what do they mean? If they mean more people will test positive for the virus, they're correct. But that's because more people are being tested. The rates of infection will follow the curve like they always do. The question is whether the curve will flatten at a low number or a higher number. With all the quarantines being done, efforts are being made to flatten that curve. I suspect it will be successful, although you can never know what would have happened if all the schools, bars, sports venues, concerts, restaurants, would not have closed.

I think a certain number of people are going to suffer bad effects from the virus, and the rest wont. The issue is whether those poor people are all going to be affected in a close time frame, or spread out over a couple of months. I understand the goal of spreading them out. But it wont do much good to spread them out if at the end of the four months there is no working economy left, because the stock market has crashed and all businesses have closed due to the panic. The panic scares me much more than the virus.

First off, I’m sure my tone has seemed flippant and uncaring, but I assure you it’s just me really hoping that this isn’t as bad as it seems like it could be, mostly because of the panic and massively sweeping rash decisions by gov’t and business owners.
I’ve also had an eye on this from the jump, because my dad could easily become a stat.
But now, I’ve temporarily lost 2 jobs and hence most of my income. And the VA has canceled my counseling sessions for the issues that I already deal with from the past. They’re offering telephone psychologists instead, but not the same guy I’ve been with for years, for some reason. He doesn’t telecare. What the fuck? I have a great base of support around me, but other vets who just lost their income source and need their sessions more than ever, will be left alone.
I know ZERO people the have the Coronavirus and none of them have died.
But I know dozens and dozens of people, friends, brothers-in-arms, who have PTSD, and I’ve already lost a couple of them.
Grocery stores around me are crazy and bare. Gas stations are getting crowded like this is an apocalypse already. The media has succeeded in completely scaring the shit out of everyone so badly that anyone in a position to cancel something feels that they have to, or else be responsible for killing the world.

Viruses grow exponentially. We think linearly.

What it means is that we are at the tip
Of the iceberg here.

It means there are 198K cases in the world currently. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

In 2 weeks there will be 1M

In 4-5 weeks 10M.

Then into the 100’s of millions. Potentially into the billions (India!)

Countries aren’t overreacting. They are anticipating what is coming.

True panic, chaos and rioting will ensure when governments lose a handle on this virus and nobody can access healthcare.

Everyone of us will know multiple people who contract the virus. Many of us will contract it ourselves. My guess is we all know someone or know of someone close who dies.

We must keep the hospitals clear for patients who are critically ill.

Continue to minimize this all you want. Tell me I’m a “harbinger of doom”;)
(I’m truly sorry for SAD no being able to continue counseling sessions. That sucks. But We all will have to make big sacrifices for the rest of this year)

What I’ve been saying from the beginning will be painfully clear to everyone by mid April.

We are in for a serious battle. I take no pleasure in these facts.

Let’s all pull together, protect our weak and vulnerable and sacrifice for the good of our communities and countries.

. . . The media has succeeded in completely scaring the shit out of everyone so badly that anyone in a position to cancel something feels that they have to, or else be responsible for killing the world . . .

When we have the luxury of looking back on early 2020, we may thank them.

Anyone who thinks the media is currently fear mongering has no idea what’s coming.

Media is clueless. As Is the general public.

Epidemiologists, virologists and intensive care professionals understand the immensity of the threat.

Dr. Anthony Fauci knows the facts but is in a bind and cannot be completely transparent when interviewed. If he were, mass panic would be inevitable.

If you want objective facts then listen to https://med.umn.edu/bio/idim-faculty/michael-osterholm.

He wrote a book basically predicting this not too long back.

Nothing about the current situation should be surprising because we’ve neglected to prepare for such a scenario.

Here in Vegas everything closed schools, gyms even the Vegas strip casinos closed. Some scary shit, glad we have some saving family can hopefully ride it out for a bit. And not resort to touching kids college funds
