it was definitely a good move on their part to lock him in, and from what i understand there's also some form of injury protection for the team correct? with his style of play an injury is all but inevitable. a lotta that money is incentive based too.
i'm not saying he's not worth it, but i am saying they may have jumped the gun to give him that big of a contract this early in his career. yes, he has accomplished a lot this early, but he already had a team around him and fell into a great roster when Smith got hurt. it's not like a (as much as i hate to say it) Tom Brady that accomplished all this with mediocre or no-name players surrounding him. and its not as if that team was built around him.
i'd be more concerned about how much money that will consume in cap space when they wanna sign new players or resign other players 3-5 years from now
