My bench opener (175) went up pretty smoothly. I tried four sets; two of them with a belt; one without a belt, and one under more adverse conditions (thick towel under my back). I think I may try my lifts with a belt. I can't tell much difference, other than I think I get better explosion off my chest - since my body is tighter.
So barring some unforeseen hiccup, I should go at least 1/3 in my bench. My plan is to open at 175. My second lift will be 185 (a 5 pound PR increase from my last meet) and if I get that, then 190. Frankly, I'll be content to not bomb out. The real work will get done after bench, when I start pulling some weight. #Deadlifts
