Well, it's been announced that women will now be in combat roles. This coming not long after the Marines releasing a long term study showing women have a much, much higher risk of injury and perform worse than men under stress.

The secretary of defense says we shouldn't make any conclusions from the Marine study. Ummm, what? Is that what studies do, form conclusions based on sufficient data collection?

This all stems from the two women that "passed" ranger school. We already know those women had special treatment in pass. This was all an elaborate scheme for a PC/feminist agenda.

In the end, this is going to get men killed and put us at a huge disadvantage. It's amazing that these idiots will put PC above safety and national security.

I'm gonna keep it plain and simple with my opinion. I'm absolutely against it for countless reasons and I'll leave it at that. Especially opening special operation jobs up. I'm all for equality but not in combat arms and special operations. I do support females filling support roles in special operation or infantry units, but not being directly in combat. Regardless of what anyone says and anyone's opinions, men and women are made differently, we are wired differently. That's a fact. I've came across son pretty hardcore chicks in the military, but I still wouldn't want them out in the shit with me. I completely agree with you shortz

The Vietcong, Kurds, Israelis and many other standing armies thru history can demonstrate the effectiveness of well trained and motivated female war fighters. I served with females that shot expert 100% of their range time, Maxed their PT scores even by men's standards measured and handled the psychological side of deployment better than some of the "tough-guys" in my unit.

i agree we are different but if the combat units level the testing standards, I'd still rather be in a fighting position with a crack shot motivated woman than some of the useless heavy-drop dregs that end up in line units because they're too dumb for a good MOS.

I agree women are superior in many things... the real issue is in a combat situation, our society our "maleness" will cause us to make improper decisions thus risking the lives of others simply on the mindset that the woman needs to be protected..

Stupid?? outdated?? yep you bet, not going to apologize I am who i am, a combination of environment and experience..

1st hand experience, I caused my whole fireteam to be killed due to a female being injured during a maneuver... exercise yes, however it showed my true reactions and my own short coming..

Sorry, i'm human..

That same reaction could also cause the "enemy" to hesitate when targeting a female...giving her (or one of her fellow soldiers) the chance to kill the enemy who hesitates.

Or make her a more desirable target for capture...

Yeah, that is so messed up. Im all for women filling a role but not in regular combat. The two women passing Ranger school is total Bravo Sierra..............They def got a pass. I know there are some bad ass bitches out there but dude.......................Ranger school is hard F'n core. Im gonna put it out there. NO F'n WAY. Uhhh Ahhh............

They are trying to pussifiy our military. First its the homo's, now its women in combat.

I'd like to share a story here...

First the back story, I was in the Navy and spent 3 years in the Persian Gulf (Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Dubai, Jebel-Ali, Afghanistan to name a few specifics) I was a Coxswain in the Harbour Protection Unit (HPU). After the USS Cole got attacked by a fishing boat laden with explosives my unit was made to protect and escort all US and coalition assets in and out of all hostile harbors and act as troop transport and medi-vac as needed. I was Captain of a 32ft high speed patrol craft with a 3 man crew. I had a front gunner on the bow with a mounted M60 (7.62mm anti-personnel) and a rear gunner at the stern with a mounted .50 cal machine gun (anti-vehicle/equipment). The 3rd guy was usually the FNG and just a relief crewman with an M16. So now that you have the set up...

I was "Cheetah" (codename for lead patrol boat on mission) and I had 3 other patrol boats with me and we were escorting a 5th Fleet Carrier Battle Group into Yemen. In my unit, we had several females from gunners to Coxswains. This was the first time I had a female gunner on my boat though. She was on the bow "manning" the M60 when the shit hit the fan and we started taking fire. Everyone reacted great and I maneuvered the boat so we could return fire and my wonderfully petite' front gunner starts freaking out and cant even rack the damn gun. She managed to unpin the mount though before she GAVE UP, yes gave up and ran back into the ****ing cabin with me and took cover under the dash at my feet crying. So now I had no front gunner and a machine gun swinging around my bow like a panicked bird and I had to try to chase down a tango while trying to keep my stern toward them so my .50 gunner could at least try to get an angle to take a shot while my other crewman desperately tried to reach the bow and M60 while under fire. It was the ONLY time an enemy had gotten past my perimeter and made a run on an asset I was guarding. Luckily the ship was prepared and when we hit 50 yards away I broke off and ran and the ship unloaded its deck guns and turned those dune-coons into pink mist. But, I never had a female on my boat again, and I use to get tons of shit from other females and people for it but I refused, never again, she almost got a lot of people killed.

...I also have a couple more stories on this subject if anyone still needs a reason. Oh and this girl was a great shot too, expert medals with the 9mm and rifle. It's easy shooting at a range though.

pussies are pussies, male and female. I've seen men piss their pants and refuse to return fire as well.

This is true.

Maybe we should have a different way to measure a person's skills that go beyond boy and girl. Only take the best of both. I imagine it would still be male dominate though and when you have a few girls around many boys there are many things that go wrong, and to no sides fault.

It's much simpler to keep it all one sex and much more efficient. So if it's gonna be male dominate, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to just make it men only. I would imagine there could be female only positions as well.

Mike_RN - You're right, pussies are pussies regardless of sex. But come on man. If my big ass goes down and needs to be carried or dragged to safety, there's very few females that I served with that could have done it. We tried it one day at WLC and this 300+ PT score black girl thought she could fireman-carry me through a course. She couldn't hold my 300lb (270 pt score) deadweight for 1 step. Gave her my full dead weight for a drag too. She pulled me MAYBE five feet in 3inch increments and after falling down with her feet in the middle of my back for the 3rd time, she quit. It's simply a physical thing. There's not many women I know that could be the combination of strength/speed/stamina that war fighters are. It's just that simple. If they keep standards exactly the same, no woman will ever make any special forces or ranger selection. But many will make it through 11B OSUT and be deployed with our brothers and sons and husbands and fathers etc, only to find out during the first firefight that they can't keep up physically. Does anyone here seriously doubt the physical advantages of being a man?!
