Forget the exact year, OR the Fed, but didn't Gene get up to where He and Scott Mendelson were racing each other to 1000 lbs? And ... didn't Gene at some point, dump 1000, and survive it?
Absolutely, they were.......here is Scott Mendelson a the Superbench Europa 2008...850 x 2,

And the winner eventually was................

I like Dorian Yates no matter what he does or says. however here is the NFL's policy on the use of cannibus:

  • THC testing threshold: A positive test for THC (the main psychoactive compound in cannabis) now requires a level of 300+ ng/ml,
  • This is a substantial increase from the previous 150 ng/ml limit (and even higher from earlier thresholds). Below this level, use generally doesn't trigger penalties.
  • Penalties for positives: Instead of suspensions (which were eliminated for cannabis around 2020–2021), violations now result in fines that are much lower than before. For example:
    • First offense: Around a $15,000 fine.
    • Second: Around $20,000.
    • Further offenses escalate to game-check fines but avoid outright suspensions in most cases.
  • Testing: All players get at least one annual test under the Substances of Abuse (SOA) policy, which does not test for THC in the standard annual group test. However, players can be tested more frequently if in certain programs, and some percentage of performance-enhancing substance tests may include THC. Testing is reduced during the season compared to past years, with a narrower window.
  • Synthetic cannabinoids: These remain fully prohibited at any level.
While the NFL has backed off its policy, they still test, and urine THC-COOH levels are among the many drugs tested for. So they are not allowing it, just kind of turning their backs on some minimal use, especially during the off season. Workign in the strip clubas as long as I did, pot is the least concern the NFL, as I have witnessed some big name players doing lines of cocaine off the table and watched them stagger out the front door at the end of the night.

Now the NBA is a completely different animal......cannabis has been removed from the list of prohibited/banned substances. The MLB also does not test for it.

WADA, cannabis (marijuana), and cannabinoids are prohibited in-competition only. I have no reason to believe that as we continue to decriminalize cannibus the use will increase, and use in athletes will be more and more accepted. This may sound weird, but I think all drugs should be removed from drug bands in sports and all criminal penalties for drug use and possession should be removed. Prohibition has never worked. Most in the NFL know well when they will be tested and clean up in time. Some are stupid fucks that can't figure it out and get suspended and fined.

Anyway, thanks for putting up that video.

Here is a what I term as stupiid posting on another board

Mind muscle connection? Is this complete bullshit or is there some kind of scientific evidence to back this up? I have been a very good athlete in several differnt sports and also not so naive that I have never smiked pot. I grew up in the 60's. But I personally see this as and excuse to get high and have to call BS on it.

Mens sana in corpore sano

While I have always trained sober because I like to know wtf I'm doing, does it matter in the end?

As long as you are enjoying you, that's all that matters. You only have one shot at life and you are the only judge that says you win or lose.

20k fine for a guy making 20million a year LOL i love it

The Canadian kid Robagliatti if i spelled that right should be everyones cannabis hero.

They took his olympic gold medals away because he tested for weed.

He and his lawyers went after them with the help of the Canadian Govt and said ,,, you've told us all for years that marijuana is bad for you and ruins your performance .. yet here is a multiple gold medal winner who blazes non stop ... explain yourselves ? they couldnt.

He got all his medals back.

Typical Olympic committee. If you're going to test for a substance, then stand behind your testing. I have about zero respect for the IOC and WADA. They honestly need to get off this stupid drug testing BS and just let athletes compete. Exactly why I never lifted inn any federation that required testing of any kind.

I don't know if you guys have seen this concept yet.

Enhanced Games are a proposed multi-sport event allowing athletes to use performance-enhancing substances (PEDs) without anti-doping testing, hosted in Las Vegas from May 21–24, 2026. The event is organized by Australian entrepreneur Aron D'Souza, who argues athletes should have autonomy over their bodies, and aims to challenge the traditional anti-doping framework.

Key Rules and Restrictions:
Allowed Substances: Athletes may use FDA-approved substances, including many banned under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code. This includes steroids, testosterone, and other PEDs, provided they are medically prescribed and monitored.

Prohibited Substances: Cocaine, heroin, and other class A drugs are banned due to illegal status under U.S. federal law.

Medical Oversight: All athletes undergo gold-standard medical assessments, including real-time health monitoring (e.g., portable echocardiograms), psychological evaluations, and oversight by independent scientific and ethics boards.

No WADA Compliance: The games are not affiliated with WADA, the IOC, or international federations. Participation disqualifies athletes from future Olympic or World Championship eligibility.

Event Structure: The inaugural event will feature swimming (50m/100m freestyle, butterfly), sprinting (100m), and weightlifting (snatch, clean & jerk).
Prize Incentives: Up to $500,000 per event, with a $1 million bonus for breaking the 50m freestyle or 100m sprint world records.
