Just ask someone to spot you at the gym. I doubt they will say no, and if so ask the next person. Fukk them if they don't text back. I only ask one time for anything, after that I take the hint and move on. You're over thinking this too much bud.

I agree with Raiden. Hopefully you can ask random people at the gym for a spot. Most serious athletes/lifters understand how important this is and that you aren't just bugging them or trying to make friends. But who know, you might end up finding a training partner by doing this. Maybe try going around peak hours just so you have plenty of people to choose from. And if you're lifting and that group you mentioned is there, honestly I would pay no attention to them and get my shit done. I say screw them bro

No Turbo, **** em. Move on , just go back lift to your potential without a spot. When you try your max ask someone for a spot. Sooner or later someone of your level \ commintment will meet up. I for the most time worked out alone, I just met a guy who's a good match , stronger , we push each other.

No stalking Turbo...

I typically lift alone also. This is where using a training max is so beneficial. Programs such as 5/3/1 and the cube address this. Say you have a 300lb max. We take off 5-10% depending on what you can handle. I usually go with 10 to be on the safe side. So that would put you to a 270lb training max. This allows you to base all of your percentages at a slightly lower weight to ensure you're able to hit all your reps/sets on any given day. Then, when you're going for PRs, you go for rep records. Save the 1RM for a time when a spotter is available. It's fail safe brother.

Thanks man. I had definitely planned on going back to 5/3/1. I was just hoping to go back to it at a later point, but I might make the change back to it.

5/3/1 is a great program. However, this principle can be applied to any power program. Test your maxes and base all of your training percentages off of a slightly lower training max. Not only will it allow you to complete your set and rep schemes, you wont over tax your cns and recovery ability.
