I typically lift alone also. This is where using a training max is so beneficial. Programs such as 5/3/1 and the cube address this. Say you have a 300lb max. We take off 5-10% depending on what you can handle. I usually go with 10 to be on the safe side. So that would put you to a 270lb training max. This allows you to base all of your percentages at a slightly lower weight to ensure you're able to hit all your reps/sets on any given day. Then, when you're going for PRs, you go for rep records. Save the 1RM for a time when a spotter is available. It's fail safe brother.
