Yep, it was never intended to be a career. Our elected officials were only supposed to receive per diem and incidentals for their travel to perform their duties. The honor of being elected and representing your people was supposed to be payment enough.

Yea, bro, I spent 25 years of my life as a football coach being drug tested 2-3 times a year. No one every found cocaine stashed away in our offices. Had I ever been arrested for breaking the law I would have immediately been suspended pending the outcome of the trial. DUI/DWIs included. Yet these tuckers can't even follow the laws they write.
