How long do you guys rest between sets when working out? I am trying to gain strength and mass and I rest about 2-3 minutes is the enough or to much?
Thanks for your help

If I am going really heavy I may go 4-5 minutes between sets. Usually less than one song on my MP3 player.

If I'm lifting heavy, I usually rest 2 or 3 minutes. Any other days, I'm super setting as much as I can so I can get in and get out.

When go heavy usually a good 4-5 mins or as long as i need to. Mainly listen to my body and not watch the clock, you cant rush this shit imo.

3 - 5min rest for strength. Some even take longer.

I think the rest between exercises is even more important than the rest between sets. What you do with your time to prepare for the next exercise can be critical. Use that time you have to focus on what you have to do next. Focus hard on your breathing and keeping your body under control. Stay relaxed but not too relaxed so your body can get a breather. Then when the next exercise comes up, rip your favorite song and get at it!

2-3 minutes is about my average. Maybe a bit more on squats and leg presses.

I always take 2 min between heavy sets. If its really heavy sets occasionally 3. And on light weight iso exercises sometimes i just so 60-90 sec
