IMO a fast digesting carb like Highly branched cyclic dextrin should be used intra work out and post workout should be a low GI complex carb like sweet potato, oats, rice kinda thing. Your muscles will have all the energy you need during your workout and the complex carb will give your muscles a steady stream of carbohydrates afterwards for recovery.
