What will you guys do when Kanye becomes president in 2020 and Kim Kardashian becomes your first lady. LOL

Move to Canada and be your neighbor. How's the weather there?

This is so true. Reluctant citizens, drafted by their friends and neighbors, were considered the ideal. Humbleness was a virtue. I think James Madison is the one who said that any man so ambitious and arrogant to actively seek public office was probably unfit for it.

Total opposite nowdays Biggie. G Washington, Jefferson..all wanted to just go home and farm, take care of business but sacrificed it all

What you speak of is the difference between a democracy and socialism. The US is actually neither. It's a republic, which is, what I believe, makes it better.

Unfortunately, the government has been making this country more of a democracy and socialist

Lastly, another of our current issues is the minority dictating the majority. This can be an even worse scenario than the above.

I don't know sometimes the majority are pretty fuc king stupid so you don't want them running shit b/c they'll ruin it.

The problem with government is there is usually to much government.

No type of government is perfect. They all have their flaws.

IMHO the best government is one that allows for people to live peacefully and safely, without fear of either other citizens or the government ruining their lives for arbitrary reasons. It is a government that allows for social and legal change as the needs and demands of the citizens change, and it is one that does not allow one group to dominate another simply because the other might be unpopular or politically weak.

We can point to thousands of ways in which our government is imperfect, but if it does the above things, I think it is good government and the thousands of criticisms doesn't change that.
