Firstly, I think that statement is a blanket big estimate.

The article talks about the type of gyms that are mostly vulnerable and that are the ones where their model is to pack the place by numbers. Well, with all the restrictions on # of participants/capacity requirements, you just can't have those numbers any longer. So those type of gyms will struggle/possibly go under unless they modify their business model/plan. Need to think outside the box and implement something.

Also, what the hell is this website? elmoudjaweb? never heard of it. I tried to get into their contact area and have no idea where they are based out of or what they represent. I'm now leary of all news sites and their agendas that they push lol.

This quote in their article "roughly a fifth of all gyms remain closed, according to RunRepeat, an online athletic shoe review site. ". So this is an online athletic shoe review site? Never heard of them, and a fifth of where? lol.

I do believe without a doubt there has been an impact and will be a further impact. The key is for business owners to recognize this and alter business plans accordingly.

Not sure where the article came from but it was also in The Washington Examiner and MSN. Looks like possibly the article originated at the Washington Examiner.

I agree with you that the big corporate gyms are the ones struggling. But some smaller gyms may be having some real difficulty in these states that have been closed for 7 months already. No way you can keep a business alive with no revenue for that long.

24 Hour FItness filed Bankruptcy and now LA Fitness is having to seek financial backing to get out of their $1..7 billion debt. Those two gyms make up the majority in Houston. What is killing these big gyms is the states that still have gyms closed. Both of these gyms are based in California. We have been open in Texas for quite a while and we don't even have to wear a mask, while much of the NE and west coast is still closed. Hard to keep the doors open when you biggest market areas are closed up and not making any more, just losing it.

Please Gawd don't close the big box gyms! There is a spacial place for cunts and maskers (maskers are cunts) and they belong where they are.

Maybe in Cuntifornia or some other states where liberals reign and still aren't opening but no way is that accurate nation wide. America, at this point is a land of scare tactics, doom and gloom media and out right lies.

Gyms like Planet Fitness whos businesses model counts on mass members and very little actual gym goers are still booming. I have a friend who owns one of 5 here locally and he said memberships have actually seen an increase since covid. Probably because betas are terrified that their unhealthy lifestyle makes them more vulnerable.

Here in Cuckafornia it's BAD!! We have to go to the gym like those old "speakeasy" bars to work out!! What's worse is the gyms in the LA area if you want to go to work out, you gotta dodge 2 guys trying to sell you something from the trunk of their cars, be careful not to step on the turds in the street, ignore the needles in the parking lot then jump over some tents just to try to get into the front door then even pray that they'll let you in if it's "Safe" (hopefully no one is watching to snitch)!!

I will NEVER vote for democrats EVER, they have utterly ruined the golden state which I loved so much!!! My only hope is that people see how bad this has gotten then we get some Republicans in there and clean this mess up, cuz you can go into any red district in California..... it does NOT have the problems the blue districts have.....not even CLOSE!!

I feel really sad for your conservative guys still living in California. I hear your idiots leaders are going to phase out gas powered vehicles in 15 years. Hopefully an electric truck is developed between now and then or you may not have supplies transported. I also saw your idiot leaders were going to tax the shit out of the rich. Of course, once they get run off the middle class will have to pay for it all. This is just what happened in Cuba and Venezuela.

I do miss the old days when you had nothing but simi-rat hole gyms that were well equipped and the owner sat at the front desk all day. You signed in and paid by the month. Everyone knew everyone else and made sure the weights were all put back. Back when personal trainers were actually personal trainers.

Maybe u guys could send a copy of this to your local leaders?...

https://www.aier.org/article/open-l...ll-belgian-authorities-and-all-belgian-media/

"there is no medical justification for any emergency policy anymore.

The current crisis management has become totally disproportionate and causes more damage than it does any good.

We call for an end to all measures and ask for an immediate restoration of our normal democratic governance and legal structures and of all our civil liberties."

They don't care. Writing to governmental leaders is just as effective as writing to Santa Claus and telling them what you're wanting for Christmas in America.

My family came here from Yugoslavia 45 years ago to escape the government that the United States is now becoming along with trying to escape the idiocy of liberal and Socialistic ideology.

What a mistake Americans are making...

Yes, I agree they don't care. This is not about keeping anyone safe but all about destroying the economy and blaming Trump. You are not going to get rid of a sitting president when the economy is doing very well and most people have jobs. Once Trump is out of the picture it will be a very short process of installing Marxism.

Is it possible Trump could be controlled opposition (puppet)?...I don't know, I'm neutral on all of this...
