Firstly, I think that statement is a blanket big estimate.
The article talks about the type of gyms that are mostly vulnerable and that are the ones where their model is to pack the place by numbers. Well, with all the restrictions on # of participants/capacity requirements, you just can't have those numbers any longer. So those type of gyms will struggle/possibly go under unless they modify their business model/plan. Need to think outside the box and implement something.
Also, what the hell is this website? elmoudjaweb? never heard of it. I tried to get into their contact area and have no idea where they are based out of or what they represent. I'm now leary of all news sites and their agendas that they push lol.
This quote in their article "roughly a fifth of all gyms remain closed, according to RunRepeat, an online athletic shoe review site. ". So this is an online athletic shoe review site? Never heard of them, and a fifth of where? lol.
I do believe without a doubt there has been an impact and will be a further impact. The key is for business owners to recognize this and alter business plans accordingly.
