i understand why there are different lifts and all but what is the purpose behind doing this one specifically? seems to me that a regular squat or deadlift would be a way better lift to use to grow and a lot safer.

That wasn't a zercher... I don't know what that was in the video. Zercher squats aren't meant to be cleaned off the floor like that. That screams spinal injury to me.

Also don't think that was 460...

Sorry but I got to call bullshit. Those aren't 100lbs plates. 100lbs plates are thicker than 45lbs obviously and those are not.

Also, Zerchers are not started from the floor. They are started in a rack and you drop down just like you would when you perform a squat.

This is going to lead to a serious injury. Start from the proper position and even than lighten the load.

Seems video footage of bad form has become an epidemic as of late.

that would be 460 if it were 50kg plates on the bar..... but I've never seen 50kg plates that look like that. Maybe they are and I'm just ignorant.

I can see the point of a zercher when done with something like a zercher harness..... basically a squat with a lower center of gravity and less load right on the spine..... but this was confusing and scary.

Good for you for setting a personal best, but please fill me in on what this is and why you did it.....
