Okay, I'm not going to fail, but the competitors are nearly all 20+ years younger than me. So I ain't taking home any trophies . . .

Monday June 30, 2014
Bent Leg Deadlifts
385 x 5 x 5 sets with 1.5 minutes rest between sets

Snatch Grip Deadlifts
275 x 15 x 3 sets, exploding on the pulls.

Waist 34"
BF % 15.5%
Weight 217 on my trainer's scale, fully clothed.
My fat loss stalled this month. I attribute that to a few things. Traveling, and a week off my diet, including a few days off for my strongman competition. And I have not been able to log my food into fitday.com as the site keeps crashing on me. We changed routers this week so I'll try it again and if it doesn't work, I'll switch to myfitnesspal.com.

Wood, the first and best trophy is you did it. See if those younger guys are doing what you are doing in even just a few years.

Great workout! You know about things stalling and plateus and the sort...they get broken through. You will do it.

Wood age doesn't mean anything, and I have proof. Stan Efferding set the 275 pound RAW total two years ago and I think he is in his late 40s or early 50s and was the strongest he had ever been.

The MAJORITY of WSM competitors and power lifters that are winning and setting records are POST 30 years old. Some into their early and late 40s and they are still able to improve.

Age means nothing man. Hard work and dedication trumps that.

And you're not even old! Aren't you in your late 30s or early 40s ?? That is the PRIME for strength gains man.

Thanks Turbo, but I'm 48 and will be 49 this fall. I look about 35 though (completely serious). And I'm in good shape for my age, with no major health or joint or tendon issues. Everything works and I am pretty much pain free. Knock on wood!

I'm really flattered, but can't take credit as my trainer designs all the workouts. I just show up and lift. And I say damn what good workouts he comes up with!!!!

And that is why we are all so proud to call you "Bro". Your big, strong AND you take care of yourself. Your trainer comes up with what you do, but you pay him and don't really have to do it so don't sell yourself short. I know your a humble guy, but you should be proud of what you have accomplished in the gym and in competition.
