People like nostalgia and acceptance, often when folks feel insecure about what their current situation is they will revert back to a "better time" and wax poetic. I think its perfectly natural for folks to do it.

I only ask the question because I forgot my ear buds at the gym today and could hear people talking while I was working out. These were skinny guys in their 20s talking like that.

I agree with this. Its definitely not a far fetch for someone to talk about their past in any fashion because their current lifestyle isn't up to par. Either that, or just embellishments to be a part of the conversation. People are naturally fucking weird.

What's more irritating to me is the guys that ask you how much you squat bench dead and when you get done telling them they cut you off and say 'Dat ain't shit! My mofucking cousin squat 900! He got that brute strength!

It’s amazing how many people could bench press 405 for reps when they were in high school.
There was a fella we had at UG and I think he stops in here now and then as well. Some kermit tried to joke with him and bust balls about that exact thing. So he put up a video of him doing it like Sr year of high school to shut the dude up.

It was kind of epic.

Sometimes I think...and then I forget.
