Thanks BI I wanted to pull today but just wasn't feeling it. Need the mono lift to really feel the squats the weight was good but the walking out was to dangerous feeling. Talking to halo today what do you think about bottom up squats?

I think Bottom Up Squats are a great assisting lift. You can Front or Back Squats that way. I think it's best to set it up in a cage. Set the pins at the bottom and pause with each rep. This is actually a big time Olympic weightlifting assisting lift.

I would set the pins at the very bottom of the movement. The cage I used to use was adjustable to an inch and half so it was VERY adjustable. If you can't set it that close I'd try to set it as close as possible. It may be a lil above, that's ok. The kicker with this movement is the pause at the bottom with each rep and starting from the bottom position.

Also, remember to start out light b/c this exercise can really kick the shit out of you.

Yeah sounds like a ball buster! Something about pushing from a dead stop in a low squatting position

Yeah that's what really tests ya, starting from a complete stop in that position which is why I say if you have the pins a lil above the very bottom position it'll be ok b/c you'll still work have to work like a mofo.

Most people get stuck at the bottom of the squat which is why I feel this lift is a great assisting lift to add to anyone's regimen. No one ever says I was 3/4 way up and stalled. It's always I was pinned from the beginning which is exactly what this lift addresses.

Tomorrow starts round 2 of sheiko. Working off the following maxes

Bench 450
Squat 600
Deads 480

This time I will be substituting any day with 2 rounds of squats with Front, Hack or Bottom up squats. To try and cut some of the time down. the wrap times are killing me for time.

You need a training partner, or some type of assistant. A midget or a Greek perhaps?

For day one my ex gf (we're still good friends [with benefits]) came with me. I have to cast my wrists for benchpress. It made life easier for me to do one side and then she'd do the other.

LOL, yeah i wish i had someone to spot. my numbers would be much higher. like the benefit part. Wrist wraps do help a lot. Just keep yhour feet pulled back and body tight and you will cruise on bench.
