Homeland Security investigation results in arrest for steroids

McDonough County Sheriff Rick VanBrooker reports that Eric A. Hardt, 26, of Macomb has been arrested following an investigation involving the Department of Homeland Security and the McDonough County Sheriff's Office.

The joint investigation and arrest resulted from the interception of a package containing 1,000 tablets and 25 vials of Anabolic Steroids by Homeland Security.

The package was sent from China with the destination of Reeveston Drive in Macomb.

A sting operation involving the McDonough County Sheriff's Office and the Macomb, Blandinsville, Bushnell and Colchester Police was set up at Hardt's residence on Reeveston Drive, where he was arrested in his vehicle with the open package containing the Anabolic Steroids.

Liquid Hydrocodone and numerous syringes were seized from the residence.

Hardt has been lodged in the McDonough County Jail and is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone), Possession of Controlled Substance with the intent to Deliver (Anabolic Steroids) and Possession of Hypodermic Syringes.

25 vials could technically be personal use for some guys, especially considering short esters or even no esters. 1000 tabs isnt shit either. Could be 5 or 10mg tabs for all we know. Pretty stupid they put that much effort into busting a guy that is most likely just looking to add a few pounds of muscle.

guys it doesn't matter what they find 10- 20 vials they're gonna threaten you with delivery every time and negotiate from there. Same with total value or street value...they pump those numbers up as well it's just typical Le tactics.

If this guy has a good attorney and they have no proof of distribution he'll get a lesser charge. But the average guy gets scared and rolls on everyone. People need to be smart enough to lawyer up and go from there...

Its easy to accrue 25+ vials just for personal use. I'm sure there are that many in our local pharmacy and the pharmacist refuse to sell even a single vial no matter who it is to.
