No need for protein day of the show. If you're dehydrated, all it'll do is sit like a brick in your gut because the body needs water to digest protein.

Shelby Sterns had me eating the day of the show:
meal 1: 3-4 hard boiled eggs w/ added sea salt + 1 small cup of coffee
meal 2: 3 hard boiled eggs w/ added salt

Rest of the day, every 1 hour, eat 1 rice cake + jam + PB on it.

After prejudging: in-and-out double double

continue rice cakes + jam + PB till evening show.

I have been consistently drinking 1 gal a day for the past 20 weeks or more so I tapered up to 1.5 a couple cups at a time

who told you this?

Water tapering doesn't work. The body adapts much too quickly. Best to keep drinking till 12 hrs before PJ, drop water completely, start diuretics, and see how that goes. Sodium should be dropped Wednesday/thurs.

Problem with asking this stuff online is there are so many ways to do it.

Stick with what u feel will work best for your body. Tons of diets out there prior to a show. The one u have described may or may not work for u. Since its your 1st show u will have plenty of time to tweak the diet for the next show, if needed. Again enjoy yourself!

Can anyone speak to how long is too long for carb depletion? I started on Sunday planning for wed-fri carb up @ 250, 210, and 170g respectively leading to rice cakes every 2 hr day of show.
I now think this is an Excessive carb up but due to a long an fairly low depletion Stage and the fact that i am transitioning off a 50,100,150g carb cycle that carb up should be thurs/fri or just fri for the sat show with 2000g sweet potatoes or something evenly distributed. Currently the depletion has got me eating 10 oz flank steak meal1, 2.5 scoops isolyze and 1/2 tbsp flax oil 2, 10 oz steak meal 3, shake with flax meal 4, work out, posing, shake with no flax, then 12 oz salted chicken breast and 3/4 cup steel cut oats with a little stevia for flavor. AM and PM I am consuming - total of 5500mg sodium. Should I keep the same meal plan through Wednesday night, Thursday same thing less the oats and add in some flax oil and then drop protein for Friday and do the following:

8am 200g sweet potato 6oz fresh turkey breast
am 200g sweet potato
1pm 200g sp 8oz fresh turkey breast
330pm 200g sweet potatoes
530 200g sp 8 oz fresh turkey breast
8pm 200g sp 8 oz fresh turkey breast
9pm glycerol/wine mixture + no more sodium (I will salt my meals but will skip the bullion cube this night)
10pm cut water

Saturday - show time
6am 10oz porterhouse or strip 3-4 rice cakes
8am 3-4 rice cakes
10am 3-4 rice cakes
12 3-4 rice cakes
2:30 3-4 rice cakes with unheated honey

I decided to edit/expound on this... I think the depletion and carb loads as shown are going to hurt me and hinder my performance.

UPDATED PRE-COMP PLAN

Tues/Wed
Meals will be at (8,10,12,2,4,6,8) R-ALA will be taken with each carb meal.
Since my previous diet was a 50,100,150 carb cycle I will be having 5 200g weight (30g carbs) servings of Japanese sweet potatoes on both days, and both evenings will have 2/4 cup of steel cut oats with PWO meal #1. This will give me around 210g carbs for each of the days.

Thurs/Fri
Meals at 7:30,10,12:30,3,6,8
Resume carb depletion, sodium high, water increased to 2gal, then 3 gal Fri.
Thurs will allow for 1/4 cup steel cut oats, and Friday this will be dropped.
Meals will be alternating lean beef, and fresh turkey breast for the entirety of these two days.
Friday is weigh ins which I don't think I will have any issues making middleweights... last week I was 169 and have not fluctuated much even with the sodium loading.
Sodium and water will cut off at 9PM fri. I am choosing to carb up after water is stopped, and will be using unsalted sweet potatoes and rice cakes, in 30-40g servings every 2 hours, even when i wake up to use the bathroom and this should help tighten up the waist and dry me out quick.

Saturday will remain unchanged - show time
6am 10oz porterhouse or strip 3-4 rice cakes
8am 3-4 rice cakes
10am 3-4 rice cakes
12 3-4 rice cakes
2:30 3-4 rice cakes with unheated honey
