Well, no elective procedures were being done (not allowed by governor), and ER visits down 40-50% everywhere. Why is it empty. Most hospitals have the ability to isolate patients and just have "dirty" and "clean" units. Where are all the regular admissions? My hospital is at or near 75% capacity year round but only 30beds are dedicated to elective surgical/ortho. These 600beds being "empty" makes no sense unless your hospital is empty most of the year anyway.
Some of it is due to people being scared to go to hospitals for fear of catching covid19, because that's what the news and politicians are telling them.
People get hurt less when they're forced to stay home I guess. Apparently they have lower incidences of chest and abdominal pain too.
Virtual visits are way up though!
