If humans are born bad and have to be taught to behave proper, who is to blame when society fails to teach them? And if society is to be blamed for its failure, how can society turn around and punish the child, when society (not the child) is the entity that has failed, and the child is merely doing what the child was born to do?
LOL ! That’s a lot deeper then the question and my answer to it.

I just believe evil prevails over good. Look at the world today? Who’s winning?

Blank Slate - Because according to studies our moral and ethical qualities are primarily shaped by our experience and surroundings.

Genetics is my answer. Part of it at least. My son (step son) has raised by me since he was 2 years old. Not his real dad, yet he does and acts in ways his real dad is. Wife sees it all the time. But definitely morals are learned.

I say we are either born "Doers" or "Donters". There are those of us willing to stay mirin' and those who are not. Whats important is doing good where we can, help a fellow human and aim for greatness....thats what we do.
