Garlic can actually play a supportive role in bodybuilding, though it’s not a “magic” muscle-builder. Here’s a detailed look at why some bodybuilders include it in their regimen:

1. Cardiovascular Support
  • Garlic has compounds like allicin that may help reduce blood pressure and improve blood flow.
  • Better circulation can help deliver nutrients and oxygen to muscles during workouts, supporting endurance and recovery.
2. Anti-Inflammatory Effects
  • Intense training can cause inflammation and oxidative stress.
  • Garlic contains antioxidants that may help reduce muscle soreness and improve recovery times.
3. Immune System Support
  • Heavy training can temporarily suppress immunity.
  • Garlic is known for its immune-boosting properties, which may help bodybuilders avoid getting sick and missing workouts.
4. Hormonal Support
  • Some studies suggest garlic may help support testosterone levels in men, though effects are modest.
  • Healthy testosterone can support muscle growth and recovery.
5. Potential Fat Loss Support
  • There’s some limited evidence that garlic may improve lipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity, which could aid body composition.
How to Use
  • Raw garlic is most potent, but cooking slightly reduces some benefits.
  • 1–2 cloves per day is common in supplemental form, or garlic powder/capsules for convenience.

I but Korean Pickled garlic from the Asian grocery down the way. I winder if it retains the "good stuff"
Pickling lowers the allicin content in the garlic due to the acidic environment , there might be more if it was pickled whole but if its minced or chopped up I would think the enzyme (alliinase) responsible for allicin's production would be lowered way more.

Allicin is what makes the garlic sexy and its good for ya heart

Some quick grabs from the Google

Allicin may help lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Allicin acts as an antioxidant, protecting cells from oxidative damage caused by free radicals.

Antimicrobial Activity: Allicin has potent antimicrobial properties, inhibiting the growth of bacteria, fungi, and viruses.

Anti-inflammatory Effects: Allicin may help reduce inflammation throughout the body, potentially benefiting conditions like arthritis and asthma.
Immune System Support:

Allicin may boost the immune system by stimulating the production of white blood cells.

Other Potential Benefits: Allicin may have anti-cancer, anti-aging, and cognitive-enhancing effects.

It is part of my LDL lowering stack. I run 1000 mg a day. Even on 2 g of gear my LDL has never been over 80.

GF THAT IS CRAZY LOW! What is your HDL? My HDL is close to your LDL but my LDL is well over 150. But calcium score is a flat zero just like a new born baby so no statins for me.

Yano, they are pickled whole, maybe the inside is still full of goodness as the acidity does not penetrate? They are still crunchy and not cooked.

My grandma used to cut a clove of garlic and rub it on scraped and cuts, then put honey on it!

My full cholesterol stack that I recommend for clients does really well at lower LDL. I usually see 50-70 point reductions. It doesn't really have an impact on HDL. I ran it the full stack as an experiment and mine LDL dropped to 46, way too low, so I dropped all the extra stuff and just stayed on the garlic.

My HDL is typically 40 on TRT. When I am blasting it will fall as low as 26.

Thanks bro, have you posted the whole stack. I do berberine, citrus bergamot and red rice yeast. I eat a lot of garlic too.
