Me too... An 800 walked out raw squat will be beastly...

Back when i was 19 or 20 the guy i trained with was the southern states champ at 198lbs. Walked out and squatted 880 in a single ply inzer suit.

I would give my left nut to train with someone like that.....

He also pulled 770 for a triple during one of our deadlift workouts. Couldnt bench for shit. He was so antiquated though. He jever changed anything up. With what we know now about variations etc, he could have done more with some adjusted methods. He was my mentor and a damn good one. Seldomly lifts anymore, he is in his mid 50's and spends most of his time fishing.

Big time bass fisherman. We would go all over. Kissimmee, okeechobee, crystL river and any local spot we could get his boat into.

Come out and train! LOL.... keep your nuts too......

Our 198/220 squats 8 raw, 9 in briefs, and hit a G in his suit. Benches consistently in the upper 800s too....... our 198 single ply guy just took the all time record with a 660 BENCH in a single ply...... Our 181-er has gone 9+ in a meet in full gear and is close to 7 raw....... Our drug free SHW and 132 girls are both chasing a 500 squat in a meet ( in gear).......

If that's not enough, I make the 90 min drive as often as possible to bench with the big boys handling a G+ ......

There are pockets of guys all over pushing each other like this. All you need to do is find one and start making the drive.

That is MORE then enough for me.... I'd probably go for 685 on the first day if I got a chance to train with you and your teammates.

That would literally be Christmas coming twice for me...

Was Fred Hatfield's 1014 @ 220 with just wraps and a belt?

I would have to say no considering it was what something like 4-5yrs after the first 1000lbs squat EVER place by Lee Moran and Lee wasn't a small man.

I'd also say no considering the biggest raw squat (belt and knee wraps) at 220lbs right now is 917 (or somewhere around that) by Sam Byrd and that was only done recently. Chris Duffin's 880 was the WR at 220lbs before that.

Clay Brandenburg gave me the advice to just hold all of my benches at the top for a solid 3 count. That extra time under tension has definitely helped. My teammates have had similar results. I'd definitely recommend that everyone tries it.

I just noticed this piece of advice. This is brilliant. Could you do this in an overload fashion too, like doing heavy walk outs?

Didn't Dave Waddington squat exactly 1000lb in 1981? Was that officially sanctioned?
