I think it's telling that poor people fear not having enough, and rich people fear losing what they have. It's crazy, my finance guy tells me all the stories of clients who spend the first 25 years developing their portfolio and worried about whether it'll be sufficient for some "level" of retirement (whatever that's supposed to be). Once they've got "enough", they simply transition to worrying about whether they're gonna lose their nestegg. Fear is an ugly thing....

Fear seems to be the tenor of our times. The media is saturated with it.
