Seems like a conversation for your fellow aquatic aerobics classmates at the YMCA rather than a conversation at the bar with that cute woman who smiled at you.

It was fun to play at the YMCA with my aquatics aerobics mates until meddlesome moralists told the Sheriff.
And ... that "cute woman" was Flirting Dragqueen, a special friend of mine.

Today's word is:

variegate

Pronounced: VAR-ee-uh-gayt, VAR-i-gayt (strange as I've only heard this word pronounced differently VARE-a-gayt)

This word is a verb that means to diversify, enliven, or to make more interesting, especially with colors. I've only used this word as an adjective to describe leaves on a plant having multiple colors as being variegated.

From the Latin variegare (to diversify with colors), from varius (various) + agere (to do). Earliest documented use: 1653.

I admit to being quite the word nerd. My brothers just accuse me of being a pompous a-hole because I like 25 cent words. LOL Sometimes I'll read a sentence, and just love the way the writer used a word or a phrase. Here's a phrase I read today:

Yeah dude my chick loves to call me a pompous bitch. I regularly pull up the thesaurus as I'm writing emails to mix up my vocab.
