First bike was a Suzuki 650SV as a teen, then been a cruiser guy ever since. I’ve owned a few but sold my last one about 3 years ago and didn’t know how bad I missed it until recently

Just picked up this ‘02 Fatboy with a custom Army theme about a month ago. Took it on a Memorial Day ride with a bunch of other veterans and found out it has some issues, haha. It’s in the shop now unfortunately but I didn’t buy a 20 year old bike thinking it would be my reliable everyday driver. Anytime something breaks or fails or wears out on a toy (car, motorcycle, house, gun) it’s the perfect time to upgrade and improve it.

Anybody else still ride?

Used to 1990-2007. First Suzuki 450L, 2nd 2002 Suzuki Katana 600f, but upgraded in 2004 Yamaha YZF-R1. A much lighter frame but bigger engine. Married/family life along with building up the business, takes the time I used to spend riding.

That’s a sexy rear tire. I love a fat tire and the beer.

Owned an FJ-1100 (Yamaha) when I was a teen (17)....Loved to ride!....Started out on a YZ-80 at the ripe age of 8...Gave up riding after I hit a car going 70mph!....Haven't rode since....I do still have the desire, however, with the way people drive and lack of visibility for a motorcycle, I DON'T!!!....

It’s always been dangerous to ride, but even more so now that everyone is on their phones constantly. I mitigate that the best I can by expecting the worst and generally riding away from traffic. Worst place to be on the bike is stuck in a cluster of traffic at speed. Call me an asshole but I’d rather zoom the fuck outta there and do 100 for a second to be riding alone again, than be stuck between teens on their phone, moms in their SUVs they can’t see out of, and brand new truck drivers that just got their cdl.

First bike was an 84 Ninja my ex bro-in-law sold me for $500. I was 18 when I got it. Ex-girlfriend ran it over in while I had it parked in her driveway - not because she was mad at me, but just a typical teenage girl driver who "didn't see" my bike there lol.

Then I got a GSXR 750 that was only a year or 2 old, and rode that until I wrecked it bad. If I wasn't 20 and kid lucky - I'd prob have been dead. I ate shit doing wheelie's at 75 mph.

I realized I was going to die if I kept riding rice rockets because I rode them like a maniac. So I got a 2000 softtail standard around 2004, and had it done up nice by the time I sold it in 2012.

I wouldn't ride now even though I miss it. Way to much traffic packed with distracted drivers in my area. I see way to many bike accidents these days, and I got 3 kids to feed. It won't be good if Dad gets wrecked on his bike by some asshole who couldn't wait 5 min to send a text.

Superbike school is an annual event for us now as she really wants to catch up on the skill level and we meet friends there and stay the weekend racing after the school is over74414B34-3136-4591-833D-5B75146B841D.jpegView attachment 11564View attachment 1156474414B34-3136-4591-833D-5B75146B841D.jpeg
Sorry for double pic..haha
We ride out in the country where I grew up I know every road and there are almost zero cars just the occasional farm equipment lol
You can see pretty far ahead though.
For those that don't know a deer hit me on July 15th 2017 and fucked me up pretty badly with 3 ribs in my left lung a broken left clavicle and smashed left shoulder as well as C5,6 and 7 being damaged and impinging into my spinal cord but was not figured out until 2 years + after haha.
Anyway YES it is dangerous to ride however I must say this.
Approximately 5000 deaths per year from motorcycle accidents in the USA
Approximately 650,000 deaths per year from heart disease in the USA
Many are living a much more risky life than others and are too dumb to even know it or desire to change it, my 300# brother in law and his 200# wife both think we are crazy for racing motorcycles and mtn bikes and skydiving yet they drink and eat themselves into oblivion without a thought while NEVER excercising.:D
Food for thought

I ride an FLHT 05.
My front break is locking up now.
Drained the breaks. Rebuilt the master cylinder but no change.
Must be something in the lines I cant flush I think.
Been sitting for months, need to get this done so I can get back on the road.
