What do you do when you are sad/unhappy to make yourself happy again?

I ask cause I'm sad tonight. Give me some ideas. Drinking a miller light and took some ambien to knock me out. Give me something to read when I wake up.

I wish I had an answer man.

If this a serious question rather than a rant.....When Im depressed, (I mean really down/low) my first thought is to do the porn, prank, booze or smoke remedy,,,,, but instead FORCE myself I crack open the bible and go straight to either the book of Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. and start reading about the lessons Jesus had for his disciples. Its puts my circumstances into a serious crowsnest view. Im sure it sounds crazy but try it one time. You will be surprised.

Mom was in a bad car accident. Shouldn't be alive. Broke lots of stuff. Find out she has cancer in her vagina. Can't do shit cause of accident. Won't know how bad cancer is until they cut her open. Moms on workmans comp but is having trouble with bills. I do her yard work and bring over extra food. Mom was dating a guy who beat her. Go over her house and this domestic assault asshole is there. Told him if I ever see him at her house again I will get out of jail before he gets out of the hospital from azz beating I will put on him.
Daughter went and got engaged (18). Didn't know about it until I checked Facebook. Daughter and I are friend on Facebook. daughter is pissed at me cause I caught her in a lie. She said it was a promise ring. It wasn't. Facebook was right but I'm an ass cause I believe that she should have been up front with me. So now I'm an asshole dad!

Wow brother I am terribly sorry to hear that all of that is happening at once. Do you have any siblings or other relatives that can help you and your mom out? I can't imagine how you feel right now and what you're going through emotionally. I'm a young buck and not rich by any means and I'm sure we don't live close but if there is anyway I can help out, let me know. I'll be praying for you and yours brother.

I'm sorry I feel I have to write this but unless the person you are responding to is definitely a Christian writing something like that is just going to really piss them off.
Like I said if you know they are religious I guess that's ok but otherwise it's not.
I'm kind of assuming you were just having a laugh?
But I'm not a Christian (and I don't have a problem with anyone who is) but when religious people start quoting stuff from the bible to me Or any other religious book when things in my life go wrong and believe me they have in the past . I just want to punch them.

Okay, far be it for me to ever be a voice of reason... But having said that, the original question is what do you do to cheer yourself up when you are down... There have been some good replies... I may not agree with all or any of them, and that's okay. Why are we criticizing other peoples posts? If rubbing one out does it for you... then that's great. If reading the bible does it, then that's great too. I think there are a few guys here that would like to trade places with the guy in the tranny prank video in another thread... ;-)

For me, I like to do something that when I'm done I can see what I've done. Like cutting the grass or washing my car or going to the gym or...
