How much do you guys warm up before hitting the platform?

As for me.. I do very little in the back while warming up.. I see guys warming up and barely making the lifts.. Thats just insane.. I want to leave it all on the platform not in the back. If im thinking I will be hitting atleast 600 bench I may only warm up to mid 300's.. I like to make big jumps.

Anyone else?

I open in the 9's on squat... in the gym I take it a plate at a time and chill out, but at a meet or on a heavy day I will take bigger jumps.

At my last meet ( I hit a PR at the meet so I plan to keep doing this) my warm ups were:

Bar x5
added briefs
225 x3
500X1
600 x1
added suit
750 x1
850 x1

Bench is even faster

bar, 135, 225, 315
405 to boards
600 to boards in shirt

open in the upper 6's

I have too much to do on the platform to be trying to be a warm up room hero

Are your warm ups more about prepping your mind? Or thoroughly warming the muscles?

PLK WTF you're warming up in the 600's on bench? Damn bro...

POB, warming up is about both.

Garry Frank is an absolute legend in the sport, the first man over 2600, 2700 and 2800 total.... I've heard stories of him doing a few sets with just the bar, jumping to 500, then opening at 1050+

I'm no Garry Frank, but the idea is to get the muscles loose and warm, then get a rep or two in whatever gear you will be wearing on the platform. You only take as many jumps as you need to prepare your mind. For example, a 400 bencher could take 135, 275, 365, then open at 4 comfortably if he's warm. He might be warm after squatting and taking 135, but if he jumped right to 4 it would feel heavy as heck and might play with his head. That's the crazy thing.... when I was working on a 500 bench 500lbs felt like the world in my hands, same with 600, same with 700, and now working towards 800. 500 back then felt just as heavy to me as 800 does now.

My last meet I had a torn miniscus and only trained for 3 weeks before hitting the platform.. Prior to that I was out of the gym for 28 weeks..
For squats I warmed up with the bar, to stretch out good, 225 for a couple then opened with 419. Jumped to 550 then finished with 650.. Bench I warmed up raw with 125, 225, shirt for 315 x1, then opened with 419, went to 465 and finished at 501 I think it was. It was very hard to push off with my torn knee..
