In your opinion what is better for muscle hypertrophy?

- High volume but low frequency (training each muscle group once per week but at high volume)

- High frequency but low volume (training each muscle group 2-3 times per week at low volume)

I have always been a fan of high volume workouts i have had amazing results from doing so however i have been doing it for too long so decided to change it up to less volume but more frequency type of training.

I've started a 3:1 protocol over two months ago hitting each muscle group twice per week. its' exhausting, but I'm seeing some nice strength gains. I won't be able to keep this up forever, and will eventually move to once a week. Although (unfortunately) I've kept my weight almost the same by cutting calories, my pumps are noticeably better, to where sometimes wiping the sweat off my brow and bending my arm is tough to do.

"Volume" is a very relative term. What some consider high volume is what others consider barely anything. You also need to consider weights being used as well. If you are hitting high volume at 30% of your ORM vs hitting high volume at 85% of your ORM there is a huge difference.

IMHO volume is the key to the best strength gains AND the best size gains. Knowing how to use it is the difference in each of those
