Looks like in Russia you have options on how you wish to vote. Maybe next year they'll provide options on WHO they can vote for. Seems like opposition candidates lately have been having health or legal problems. LOL
The point is Trump was lying to his base once again. Sadly, the base does not care because it wants its team to win instead of having integrity and doing the right thing.

Or maybe Trump does go away? Lol.

Bruised hands. Ankles the size of tree trunks. Congestive heart failure. Our tax dollars are the only thing keeping him going. Constant IVs and other care.

Better eat as many Big Macs as possible, quickly, Orange Hitler. :D

The U.S. government has ended the "de minimis" exemption, a century-old trade loophole that allowed packages under $800 to enter the country duty-free. This groundbreaking change will directly impact consumers and small businesses nationwide.

Most consumers will be shocked soon. So far businesses like mine are using a big bag of tricks to keep prices down. We are using a ton of 'sneakflation ' and other gimmicks to make the prices seem low and stable. But that game is not enough now.

What is heartbreaking is how working class families are about to suffer. Low income people making less than $70,000 to $80,000 a year are going to be wiped out. They will not be able to bear this. :(

I work in American manufacturing.
Prices are up for all of our materials. We're trying to source domestically but even the raw materials for our domestic suppliers are subject to tariffs and are going up in price.

My industry is directly related to construction/renovation and I can say with 100% certainty that our costs are being passed onto the consumer.

Our operation is international with 8 locations around the world. I can also tell you that our international satellite branches are shifting manufacturing from our location to theirs so they can continue to supply global customers without having to deal with US tariffs. We have $22 million worth of machinery sitting idle because we've lost that business to our international counterparts and competition out of China but we're still stuck paying those machines off.

We produce commodity materials, there is only so much we can increase price before the overseas competition is more appealing even with the tariffs.

On the organization level, investment projects in the US are being cut in favor of international projects. The Japanese holding company that owns our group and several others would rather invest in more stable areas of the world.

Just a quick update on the situation at my factory:
Our biggest customers are cancelling orders. Their global holding groups are demanding the US segments of their businesses shield themselves from exposure by limiting the amount of inventory they have on-hand in their American factories. They want less inventory in order to increase available cash-flow in case prices continue to fluctuate in response to tariffs.

This has turned our production backlog from 20 weeks worth of work down to 1. The orders that remain in our schedule are shrinking in size. One order dropped from 44,000 lbs to just 2,200 lbs. Two of our customers are so severely impacted they've had their credit limits revoked and are "cash-up-front".

Another customer has been completely shut down by their holding group.

We have already shut down 2 lines and are anticipating shutting down 4 more. Out of 8 production lines only 2 are anticipated to run on a severely reduced operating schedule, down to 3-4 days a week instead of 5-6.

In the 40 years this company has been in operation, we've never had machines idle before.

Hiring has also been frozen with talks of layoffs on the table.

Amazing how low income is $70 k or less. For us over 65, $75 k is where we start losing our additional deductions, where do they get this shit from?

I guess income being low or high depends on where people live?

So lets see for EVERY package that I personally receive from another country what ever the value then I will be taxed correct?
So for me and 99.99% of Americans this doesn't mean shit and if you have a company that has been importing packages less than $800 bucks then WTF are you selling and or making a year?
Another bullshit scare tactic to feed the TROLLS or maybe ALL economic policies that were drafted over 100 years ago should still be based upon the dollar amount that they were put in place at.

It’s an irrefutable no-brainer for anyone with so much as half a brain cell: Cost of living has increased and will continue to rise significantly throughout this Trump (and really, any alternative that would be otherwise) era and beyond.
COLAs for SS have been in place since 1975 of course it costs more to live in 2025 than it did in 2009 we all expect that I am sure, as you said it is a no brainer.

My little mind thinks the change primarily targets large overseas sellers who’ve been using the $800 loophole to avoid duties on bulk shipments by breaking them into smaller packages. This allowed them to undercut U.S. retailers and small businesses who do pay import fees.
The de minimis loophole hasn’t really been helping consumers as much as people think. While it lets foreign sellers ship goods under $800 without paying duties, those savings rarely get passed down to us, especially when quality or return policies are questionable. At the same time, it’s been hurting U.S. retailers who have to follow stricter rules and pay more to get goods here, which limits competition and choice for consumers in the long run. So yeah, it might seem like a win for buyers, but it’s been stacking the deck in favor of huge overseas platforms, not regular shoppers.

I do think this will likely negatively impact some of the activities we partake of here amongst ourselves.
