I have used it off and on over the years, mainly during ham and calf workouts as an addition to leg curls. I've never really used it as an actual replacement to straight bar deads / pulls done on back day.

I did sumo deads off the floor for many years in my mid to late 20s and early 30s on back day. But for the past dozen or so years, I've mainly done rack pulls below the knees on back day.

I like it for shrugs and in place of deads if I feel my dead form is going poorly that day or if I am just fatigued (I have terrible life-long insomnia). I use it for farmer carries multiple times a week as well, feel like it helps my overall strength.

I do them on back and leg days. One of my favorite things though.
