I pull sumo because I have SHIT knees and my squat stance is wide as well, allowing my inner thigh to be pretty powerful- only makes sense to use it for deads.. Im also 6'3, so any way I can get lower to the ground to compete I will take that advantage as well... I pulled 705 about a year ago sumo...

Same here, bro. My knees are screwed after having 4 knee surgeries. But I prefer conventional. The funny thing is that when my form is off, I will feel it in my left knee. Otherwie, I have no problem at all.

ever since I had a knee replacement I find it is less stressfull to go sumo style

Good squatters are usually good sumo pullers. Guys like me, who have strong backs & weak hips and who squat 100+ lbs less than they deadlift, usually do better conventional. Not a hard fast rule but worth mentioning.

true that the best deadlifters tend to pull sumo, but keep in mind the highest deadlift ever pulled (Benedikt Magnusson's) was pulled conventional with a close stance
