Who do you think was the strongest competitor who never won WSM?

My top 5 would be:

1. Riku Kiri
2. O.D. Wilson
3. Gerrit Badenhorst
4. Hugo Girard
5. Lars Hedlund

Riku Kiri was strong like ox, but injury prone during wsm. He held dozens of other titles though.

Misha is a cool dude and was a great competitor. He was much stronger than he looked too. Probably from his Olympic lift background.

Yeah he was the Russian Nat. Champion several times but was black listed when he switched over to SM. The Nat. coach Dave Rigert saw to it that his Oly days were over. He's one of a handful of Oly lifters to ever C&J 250kg in a nat. meet.

Badenhorst never won? The competition in those days was some of the deepest ever.

Mark Phillipi was a stud until he blew his knee out in the wsm comp. One of my favorites, not ever in contention is Steve "pickles" Pulcinella, primarily due to his highland games background.
