The NSCS journal did a study on stretching around 5 or 6 years ago. They found that stretching was best after a light 10 to 15 min warm up of a light jog or some sort of movement to " warm the body up" . It also found that stretching cold or, without this warm up led to more injuries. I stretch all the time. I do a few sets of body weight and bar only squats, then stretch my legs. Similar for other body parts.
