NEWTON — Robert Mucha, a Newton resident, will appear today in Newark federal court to begin to answer charges that he lured a teenage boy and shared an interest with others online in child cannibalism, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman.
The results of an investigation by a special agent for the Department of Homeland Security found that Mucha, 56, used Yahoo! Messenger chat to swap child pornography and to discuss with others, who have also been arrested, a shared interest in penetrative sex with infants, child bestiality, parent-on-child rape, strangulation of toddlers and eroticized child cannibalism.
Mucha also allegedly lured a 15-year-old boy to Stroudsburg, Pa., for sex.
Mucha admitted to putting his hand down the boy's pants and stroking him, according to the criminal complaint. He was arrested on July 25 for the incident.
After being arrested, Mucha admitted to regularly masturbating to a fantasy of a 2-year-old boy basted in barbecue sauce and then skewered, cooked and eaten "like a Thanksgiving turkey." He also admitted to watching boys and sometimes joining them in the shower at Drum & Bugle Corps in Belleville and Lakewood where he taught band class over 20 years ago, the complaint states.
"Mucha also estimated that on at least one hundred occasions, he patted the buttocks of the boys and later masturbated to his actions," the criminal complaint states.
It also says in the complaint that he admitted to touching the thighs of six boys, rubbing the breasts of three to four boys, and massaging the shoulders of 50 to 100 boys over his lifetime, all for his own sexual gratification.
He is being charged with one count of enticing a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity, one count of receiving child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography, according to Fishman.
The complaint also states that Mucha is an EMT in Andover.
He will have an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael A. Hammer at 1:30 p.m. today in Newark.
