Powerbuilding?

Not to get snarky, but according to many folks here, you can't call yourself a powerlifter unless you have competed. Maybe powerbuilding is a term that can be given to those who train like a powerlifter, but don't compete?

That's interesting and perhaps that is the term we should coin for that very purpose.

I think I first heard of the term to describe Jimmy " the Iron Bull " Pellechia or perhaps the Barbarian Brothers

My interpretation was someone who neither competed in BB or powerlifting but used very heavy weights often with a lot of body english and quite often not on competition but unusual lifts i.e. David and Peter Paul were known for reverse grip bench presses , behind the neck presses , alternate DB curls and heavy neck training . Powerbuilder is just the name bodybuilders came up with b/c they don't want to call themselves PLers....

Me neither. I hate the word powerbuilder. It's basically a name for bodybuilders who aren't pussies and lift heavy shit or PL who run programs like 531 that have rep work after squats bench deads.

I thought it was the word for powerlifters who aren't fatasses, lol
