I went to the doctor due to sever anxiety that I have, he told me tht I have a problem with my norepinephrine apparently I produce too much and it's causing problems, is there any norepinephrine uptake inhibitors that are natural I don't feel like taking an Effexor which is what I was prescribed because I don't want any ****ed up head problems and weight gain.

Taking effexor isn't the ****ed up part. Coming off of it is a nightmare though.

Try St. John's Wort... You need to couple this with cognitive therapy and meditation though.

Be careful with that St. John's wort. It doesn't mix with anxiety medication. Because its herbal.

I have severe anxiety also. I've taken Effexor. Now I'm on cymbalta.

I'm interested to know more about the norepinephrine inhibitors.

Kbd, what type of anxiety are you dealing with? If you don't mind me asking. Pm if u want.

I'm always trying to learn more about it and how to deal with it.

I just constantly over think things too hard and worry about the what ifs 24/7 my doc told me its cause I produce too much norepinephrine. Which apparently is bad. Quite annoying if I must say, I hate bein like this it effect my gym workouts and eating habits and other things. Just wanna feel peaceful

Yea I hear ya man. I do the same thing.

When I go train out of town with my friend I get worked up and by the time I get to the gym I'm exhausted. And my strength takes a drop.

It's frustrating. Have you seen a psychiatrist?

Some of the medications prescribed are real helpful.

Also, have you tried going to see a psychologist? Or registered therapist.

Just telling another person what causes you anxiety can help.

When I did my first competition I was going to a therapist, and it helped me a lot. Because I was able to describe to her WHAT I was worrying about. And she could help me to rationalize my thoughts.

It didnt make me 100% better, but it did help. And when I got to the competition I had a bag of tools to use if I needed them.

Hope this helps man. Any questions just pm me.

If it is the worrying thoughts you could try buspirone, it is a miracle for some and does nothing for others. Only issue is that it is not recommended to be taken for long durations.

As said above the withdrawals from effexor are terrible

Maybe get a second opinion , and ask what the length of treatment may be ?
I know with some anxiety treatments it's about rebalancing then you can go back to unmedicated
