45 years old. 5'7, 230 or so. Not anywhere near "ripped", don't count calories. But I'd guess I usually take in somewhere between 3500-4000 cals or more on average. Was 135 pounds 27 years ago when I started.
Typical day's eating:
Breakfast:
3 eggs
4 oz steak, sausage, ham, or bacon
2 slices toast w/jam or 2 blueberry waffles w/syrup
1 pint whole milk w/ choc whey
Lunch:
8-12 oz protein (steak, chicken, shrimp, etc)
1-2 servings starchy carb (potatoes, rice, pasta, etc) usually with some sort of sauce, gravy, butter, cheese, etc
1-2 servings veggies
roll or garlic bread or similar
This is usually eaten out. Sometimes as spaghetti & meatballs, or chicken and rice, steak & potatoes, or tex-mex (tacos, enchiladas, tamales, beans & rice, etc) or whatever.
I usually have another meal late in the afternoon a couple of hours before hitting the weights. Usually something like an Italian sub, BBQ sandwich, or a half pound cheeseburger... or maybe something left over from home. Probably somewhere in the 800-1000 calorie range. I don't eat mayo or ketchup on my sandwiches.
Dinner an hour or so after the gym may be out or at home, and is usually similar to lunch. I often have a little desert as well - cheesecake, chocolate peanut butter ice cream, apple pie, or perhaps a couple of homemade oatmeal raisin cookies.
