I'm pretty easily amused and entertained, so I don't feel the need to spend huge amounts of money on toys, vacations, etc. I don't go out clubbing until all hours of the morning several nights a week like I did 20+ years ago.
And unlike many of my friends, I don't play very much golf or do very much hunting or fishing these days - all of which are pretty costly and time-consuming... of course such activities can be great ways to network and meet people.
Aside from having a nice home and a pretty nice car, I'm not a huge spender... I like a decent suit of clothes, a couple of private club memberships, and some good food in the fridge, but I'm not quite Ric Flair.
Cable TV, computer, and books occupy a good chunk of my time. Of course I'm working at the computer with the tv on in the background a good bit of the time during the week.
I like to eat out several times a week and have a few drinks once or so a week. Often get a room at the nearby casino hotel a couple of nights a month - I don't gamble but I will eat well and drink it up.
Re the large purchases like a home and cars, I like to plan ahead and start putting money away for a while before I actually make a purchase. And I like to get such items paid off as soon as possible - cars in particular. Of course I try to get the best deal possible on a major purchase.
