wow I thought a 1019 - 2020 was pretty nice and special...lol

cant believe you aged them that long... was it worth aging them from 2014 and 2017 ?

How much of a diff is their in 5 years of aging to 8 instead? I remeber them selling on eBay from 90.00 to 110.00 usd a bottle like it was yesterday.

The bottles even say to age them for 7 years. Only @Lizard King can tell you if he remembers the difference between the two bottles of Rare he has if he hasn’t drank that 2nd one yet…

Woodford Double Oaked for sipping.

Did the bourbon trail on Harley's with a friend and Woodford was an awesome place. Had to take a longer break before getting back on the bike as their tasting got me half lit, lol. I believe it was like 9 different shots I had in about 5 minutes :)

Had my name put on a barrel at Makers Mark that came of age and I picked up my 9 bottles with my name on the label Easter of 2022.

Still have that second 2015 Rare in the basement, I remember the first one, it was really good I can compare when I open it.

I usually crack a 2014 every Christmas morning, I have about a 1/2 case left :)

Woodford double oak is nice, you can get some really good store picks with some crazy depth.
Wild turkey 101 is also decent, try the Rare Breed, it's a step up.
Older bottles of Wild Turkey go for some crazy prices and it was such a cheap bottle back in the day.

As others have said, Buffalo Trace is pretty good--and a good value. So many other good choices though...

I'm a huge fan of Old Grandad the 100 and the 114, great pours.

You're not the first person who's told me I'm missing out on this one. I'll keep my eyes open as everyone's told me to grab one, or two. LOL
Ran into a guy at a store in KY, he knew one of the distillers, got his hands on a bottle of private triple oaked, said it was phenomenal.

Picked up a case of 2023 BC stout on Friday. Store only had 1 case and a few loose bottles. Waiting for more Jackie O's to hit the shelves. Big fan of Penelope Toasted, Char 1 Heavy and Willett Small Batch Rye, a few others but nothing I'd ever put ice in. Woodford Double Oaked for sipping. Whiskey War double double is also really good.
CostCo had quite a bit of the 2023 release, about $14 a bottle.
